What is love?

Love is in the air as Valentine's day is approaching quickly. I was just reading in a magazine about love and what love is...It got me thinking about it and how we use the word love way too flippantly. In one sentence we say I love this shirt and then in the next, I love you so-and-so. So what is love? Well a very good definition and true definition comes from the Bible.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails.
Love is a very important and powerful thing, but we have devalued its meaning. It used be a word that meant so much, now we use to describe our feelings for something as insignificant as our toothpaste. God has created it to so much more. I'll close with one more example of true love. Really, it's the ultimate example.
John 3:16-17
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
